Academic session of AsiaGSB PGPM 2010-11 had been begun with Assessment center under the guidance of Mr. P. Vijayan and Mr.Dhruva Sen. It was a standardized evaluation of behavior based on multiple intelligences,which included Group Discussion, Role play, psychological tests, case study evaluation and personal interview. It helped students to develop themselves by identifying their core strengths and improvement areas

Students of batch 2010-11 had an Industrial visit to Asian Paints

Students of batch 2010-11 had an Industrial visit to Asian Paints,India's largest paint company and interacted with HR manager and project manager over the various marketing strategies and Supply chain management of the company.It was accompanied with the plant visit, students were taken to floor to see the processes from manufacturing to packaging.It gave us an unique opportunity and exposure and a better understanding of various functions which are an integral part of any successful organization.

Two research scholars of Dr. D.K. Srivastava awarded Ph.D. at 70th Annual Convocation of TISS on May 10, 2010

Ms. Hema Bajaj, a research scholar of Dr. D.K. Srivastava was awarded Ph.D. by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai on the topic "HR Integration in Mergers and Acquisitions : Case Study of Banks". Another research student Ms. Pragya Sonawane, was also awarded Ph.D. by TISS, Mumbai on the topic : "Enhancing the value of Non-Monetary value of recognition for employees : A cross- sector Study.

Dr. Jay Dial receives Ohio State 2010 Alumni Award

Management Professor Dr. Jay Dial was awarded the 2010 Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching on Thursday, April 15 in front of his strategy class in Gerlach Hall. Winners receive a cash award of $3,000, made possible by contributions from the Alumni Association, graduates, former students, and friends of Ohio State. They also receive a $1,200 increase in their base salaries from the Office of Academic Affairs.  Dr. Dial, along with the other recipients, will be inducted into the university's Academy of Teaching, which provides leadership for the improvement of teaching at Ohio State." Dr. Animesh Bahadur comes as visiting faculty for a course on Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics

Dr. Animesh Bahadur is currently faculty at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. His specialization is in the areas of employment relations and sociology of work. He has also worked in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation in the SME sector as a Research Associate at IIM Lucknow. He has also been involved in research and consultancy for NGOs since 1996.  His current areas of research interest include the nature of affirmative action in the Indian private sector and the gender dimensions of work in the contemporary scenario. He has been a recipient of UGC Junior Research Fellowship in the area of HRM and Industrial Relations.

Students visit Asian Paints in Hyderabad, Feb 4, 2010

To offer the students more industry exposure and to ensure a better understanding of the conceptual learning of the classroom, the students recently had an Industrial Visit to the Asian Paints Plant at Patancheru, Hyderabad. The students were explained in detail the history as well as the growth of the organization along with the future goals of the company. Insightful inputs were provided which fostered a lively discussion on various topics between the officials and the students. Subsequently, a walk through the plant was arranged to understand the paint manufacturing process and provide the students a first hand experience of a day at a manufacturing unit.

Corporate Vice-President and Managing Director of Microsoft Research India, Mr. Srini Koppolu visits AsiaGSB, June 18, 2009

Corporate Vice-President and Managing Director of Microsoft Research India, Mr. Srini Koppolu visited AsiaGSB on 18th June, 2009. Srini Koppolu has been with Microsoft Corporation since 1989. In Redmond he has held many roles including Development Lead and Development Manager in various product groups. He has been the key contributor to Microsoft Office and Windows. He designed the Microsoft's Component Technology called COM that started the revolution of component based development in the commercial software industry.

He also worked on Office 95 and Office 97. He was one of the creators of the office core infrastructure group. This is the group that is responsible for designing and developing all the common features of all applications in Microsoft Office suite. He was also responsible for the Web features in Office.

An IIM Ahmedabad trained faculty with more than 26 years of experience in teaching, research, training and consultancy, specializes in the broad domain of Human Resource Management. Prior to joining Asia GSB as Director, worked with premier Institutes like Shri Ram Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources, New Delhi as Senior Fellow and Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai as Professor and Chairperson, Centre for HRM.

Prof. Navin Chandra presents a paper on “Reconsidering Supply Chain Network Strategies in India” at the 3rd International Conference on Global Interdependence and Decision Sciences.

The Indian Subcontinent Decision Sciences Institute Region (ISDSI), the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), India, and the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSoM) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India, jointly organized the 3rd Annual Conference of the ISDSI at ASCI, Hyderabad, India - called the International Conference on Global Interdependence and Decision Sciences, 2009 - from 28th to 30th December 2009.

Prof Navin Chandra presented a paper on Reconsidering Supply Chain Network Strategies in India. This paper emphasized the need for a better network positioning to serve customers and made suggestions for the further development of network strategy as a key decision area for companies in India.
